I'm Dan Rovito, a Director of Engineering based in Cincinnati, OH. I've been building software for over a decade, starting as an individual contributor and growing into leading engineering teams. These days my work is split between setting technical direction, helping engineers grow, and staying close enough to the code to stay honest.
I care about building teams that ship well, not just fast but thoughtfully. Good engineering culture, clear technical decisions, and software that holds up over time matter more to me than moving quick and cleaning up later.
What I work with
Most of my professional work is in C# and .NET on the backend with Angular on the frontend. On the side I enjoy building with Laravel, JavaScript, and TypeScript. I've spent enough time across different stacks to know that the language matters less than understanding the problem and the tradeoffs.
Side projects
I run SimpleVerify.io, a tool built to make verification workflows simpler for developers and teams. Side projects are how I stay hands-on and scratch the itch to just build something without a committee.
Outside of work
I build Gunpla, Gundam plastic model kits. It's a hobby that rewards patience and attention to detail, which makes it a good counterweight to a job where the feedback loops are long and the work is often invisible. There's something satisfying about holding a finished thing in your hands.
